I just finished the 1st season of Pretty Little Liars last night and the thing I noticed is that Toby is always the victim, he's always the one being blackmailed and getting put behind bars. Ever since he started to befriend Emily, I started to see how he is actually not the bad guy. At the prom when Emily took Toby, Toby is so sweet to Emily, I wanted to hate the girls when Aria sent Emily the message that Toby is Alison's supposed killer even though HE IS NOT, He even took Emily to the hospital after she tripped and fell unconscious while running away from him, then he left Rosewood without telling anyone. I felt really bad when he felt so betrayed by Emily (he thought Emily turned him in even though Jenna was responsible for it) when he was taken behind bars and I wanted to CRY when Spencer was jogging and saw how Toby was getting bullied, told to drop dead and when he smiled at two kids and they ran away, he went into an alley, sat down and cried, no one knew how bad he was feeling. Finally, thank the writers for Spencer saving Toby from the depth of darkness and loneliness he has been suffering for the past year. When Spencer started to tutor Toby, we could see that Toby was really scared of Jenna (Toby and Jenna had been having a relationship even though Jenna was the one forcing him, and Jenna blackmailed him that if he refused, she would tell their parents that Toby had been forcing himself on her). SEE? That's why I love Toby! He's actually the really nice guy! Weirdly, I'm attracted to guys I pity (I was also attracted to Lucas when Hanna couldn't see him as more than a friend)...
